Flame Rock for Abilities Concert

To celebrate National Developmental Disabilities Awareness Month, Flame, Lexington’s world-renowned rock band, will perform a “Rock for Abilities” concert on Friday, March 28, 2014. It will be held at Lexington’s Gloversville facility located at 127 East State Street from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Tickets cost $5.00 each and are available at Something Special (Johnstown), the Fulton Montgomery Regional Chamber of Commerce, Mohawk Harvest Cooperative Market and Encore Kids (Gloversville), as well as at the door on the day of the event. Anyone that brings a non-perishable food item to the concert will be entered to win a door prize.

This concert is part of the “NYSARC Gives Back” initiative and all proceeds will benefit local food pantries. NYSARC, Inc., Lexington’s parent company, is America’s largest non-profit organization supporting people with intellectual and other developmental disabilities and their families since 1949. NYSARC is the New York State Chapter of The Arc.

Last year’s concert raised $1700.00 and collected hundreds of pounds of non-perishable food items for local food pantries. Hundreds of Lexington employees, program participants and family members helped to make the project such a success. Lexington participates in fundraising and food collection throughout the year to benefit a variety of community agencies.
